Arrival to Throwing

Arrive early. Before we stretch, I want to see arm bands taken care of and any other tidal tank/medicine ball/plyo ball work done. We have to be super efficient with our field time, so let’s be punctual and get things rolling.

On our field days, I’d like to see everyone work out to a good long toss. Let the arm eat, get the body ready to perform. You’ll have 10 minutes to do this, let’s see a good gradual climb out to max distance and keep the feet moving. No laziness, every throw matters. Hit your target.

Run + Full I/O + PFP’s

Once throwing is done, we’re going to put the gloves by home plate and go one by one. Take a swing and get up the line. Follow back around and get in line for a second go at it. This time we’re cutting it up and going 2. Once finished, grab a drink, get your glove and get to your positions.

Positions for I/O:

C: Brody/Nate (Brody to go to 2nd one OF is done)
1B: Jordan/Braylen (Once OF is done)
2B: Eli, Brody, Cam (Once OF is done, go to 2B)
3B: Levert/Chase
SS: Evan (Once OF is done)
LF: Na’Im/Cam
CF: Eli/Caden
RF: Braylen/Wyatt
PO’s: Braden/Colton/Cristian/Noah

Infield Work + Catchers/Outfielders in Cages

Catchers take first reps in cages. Working flips. BP on field days will be light. 1-2 Rounds of flips, potential overhand toss and keep it moving. Once complete w/2 Rounds, catchers gear up and come onto field for throw downs.

Infield Work

  • 3B/SS/2B all take work at SS and have 1B playing position.
    • Fungo work for front hand, back hand, slow roller etc.
      • We are working fast, focusing on footwork, proper feed and follow through on throws.
      • WORK LOW, WORK QUICK, WORK CLEAN

Outfield + Infield Cages + Bullpens

Catchers will move on to bullpens to catch 20-25 Pitch bullpens. The focus of these bullpens is for pitchers to repeat mechanics, throw strikes and mix pitches. Outdoor bullpens are NOT for your velocity. Throw like shit, get removed. Pitchers, expect to run poles after throwing bullpens OR if we have on field hitting, shag. This isn’t punishment, this is simply our form of recovery to get the blook flowing.

Infielders are working front toss and hitting. Get two rounds in and keep it moving.

Outfield Work

  • Fungo Work
    • Focusing on drop steps
    • Read the ball off the bat, get behind and work back into the IF
    • Read, Track, Attack

Potential Extra Time (If we get lights and can extend to 8:30 PM)

Group 1:
Cam, Caden, Eli, Na’im
Group 2:
Evan, Braylen, Nate, Wyatt
Group 3:
